Creation Keepers

The parishes of St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. Joan of Arc have formed an environmental team, Creation Keepers, to highlight environmental matters to our faith communities and beyond.  Below is the mission statement for this newest ministry in our cluster parishes.

 Mission Statement

In the spirit of Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si, the Creation Keepers team of St Catherine of Alexandria and St Joan of Arc will inform Parish members on the problems of environmental abuse, encourage responsible, individual and family environmental stewardship and promote parish-wide environmentally friendly activities.

If you are interested in being a part of the team please contact,

John Sokup 262-646-8078 or parish@sjarc.org

Advent Giving Tree

ADVENT GIVING TREE

During this Advent Season we await the fullness of the Lord’s coming by reaching out to others.

The Advent Giving tree is in the St Joan narthex. This year the gift tags found on the tree will reflect seven organizations that provide for the needs of others.

St. Vincent de Paul Society “SVP”: offers both material and spiritual help to the needy. The dark blue gift tags are requested for specific needs. Milwaukee Chapter of the Christ Child Society: a nonprofit Catholic organization that provides clothing, parental and other assistance to the youth of Milwaukee. The rose gift tags consist of infant and children’s items. Franciscan Peacemakers: reaches out to people dealing with poverty, family crisis and crime issues in central Milwaukee. The purple gift tags will be a request for an opportunity to purchase a Walmart gift card so families may purchase what they need for the holidays. House of Peace: a ministry serving families in need. The white gift tags with black print will request toys to brighten children’s lives. Hope Center: is a ministry committed to serving people in need in Waukesha County. The light blue gift tags are requests for a Walmart or Walgreens gift card for men and women who are ministered to at the Hope Center in Waukesha. St Catherine Residence for Women: The mission of St. Catherine Residence is to ensure safe, affordable and supportive housing and services to low-income women. The white gift tags with purple print are requests for gift items for the women and children in their care. Shorehaven: is a community campus in Oconomowoc that provides homes and resources for seniors. The white gift tags with rose print suggest gifts for seniors, to ensure that all residents have a Christmas gift to open this holiday season.

We ask that all gifts have the gift tag attached and be placed under the tree by Sunday, December 11.

Thanks for helping others experience Christ in the flesh.
